Privacy Policy

RouteStudy is operated by NOVARUN, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Texas software company. We provide software for pipeline corridor routing, cost estimation, and related planning tools at routestudy.com (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how to reach us with questions.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address to identify you and secure your account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Billing information. Subscription payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers; we do not receive or store your card number.

Project data you upload. To run a routing job, we process the GIS data and project parameters you provide - things like utility layers, easements, corridors to follow or avoid, start/end coordinates, and pipe specifications - along with the routes, cost estimates, sheet sets, and reports the Service generates from them.

Connected data subscriptions. If you connect a third-party data subscription (for example 4M Analytics), we store the endpoint URL you provide, which acts as your credential. It is never shown back to anyone and is used only to run your jobs.

Activity in the Service. We record which members of an organization ran jobs, viewed results, and downloaded files, and we store feedback you submit along with the page and route it was submitted from. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request path) for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies. We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

RouteStudy maintains a statewide Texas parcel dataset compiled from public appraisal-district records by the Texas Geographic Information Office. It includes property-owner names and assessed values as published. Every Texas routing job uses this dataset to score alignments, and owner names appear in your deliverables - the impacted-parcel map layer, the parcel schedule, and the GIS downloads - so that a right-of-way agent can act on them. We reproduce these records as published and do not verify them. We do not include owner mailing addresses in deliverables.

GIS data you upload yourself may also contain personal information. You're responsible for having the right to upload and process it.

Three features of the Service are powered by a third-party AI provider, Anthropic, under its commercial API terms. When AI-assisted features are on for a job, the following leaves our servers for Anthropic:

• Column mapping: up to five sample values from each column of each layer in the job, including our parcel data. If a column holds owner names, sample owner names are included.
• Memo drafting: route and crossing statistics, feature names, cost figures, and the names of parcel owners the route affects.
• Visual review: a rendered map image of each route drawn over public USGS aerial photography, with parcels, buildings, and crossings.

AI-assisted features can be turned off for any job before you run it. When off, nothing is sent to Anthropic for that job and the memo is produced from a fixed template instead. Anthropic's commercial API terms do not permit it to train models on this data.

We use the information we collect to provide and operate the Service, run your jobs, process payments, communicate with you about your account and jobs, maintain security, and improve the product. We do not currently use your project data or its outputs to train machine-learning models. If that changes, this policy will say so, and you will be able to opt out before any of your data is used.

We share information only with the service providers that run RouteStudy, each under its own terms and only to perform that function for us:

We do not sell your personal information or your project data, and we do not share one customer's project data with another. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of NOVARUN, LLC or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, in which case we will give you notice.

Utility system maps and as-built records are often confidential in your hands, including under Texas Government Code chapters 418 and 552. When you upload them, we treat them the same way we treat data from a connected subscription: we use them only to run your jobs, we do not share them with other customers, we do not combine them into any dataset of our own, and we do not use them to train models. They are stored in access-controlled object storage in the United States and are deleted on the schedule below.

Your projects, jobs, uploaded files, and generated outputs are kept for as long as your account is active, so your project history stays available to you.

Deleting a project in the app removes it from your workspace immediately. The underlying records, uploads, and outputs are retained for 90 days so that billing, usage history, and support requests can be reconciled, then permanently deleted.

To delete your account or specific data sooner, email info@routestudy.com from the address on the account. We complete deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email. Records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes (invoices and payment history) are retained for the period the law requires. Backups held by our database provider expire on their own schedule, no longer than 30 days.

Connections between your browser and our services are encrypted (HTTPS). Every project, job, and download is scoped to the account or organization that owns it. Uploaded files and outputs are stored in private object storage and accessed only through short-lived signed links. Our database and object-storage providers encrypt data at rest. Production systems are reachable only by NOVARUN, LLC personnel with a need to operate them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

If you use RouteStudy as part of an organization, the organization's administrators can see each member's name, email, and activity in the Service (jobs run, results viewed, files downloaded), and can manage the organization's subscription.

You can turn AI-assisted features on or off per job, disconnect a data subscription at any time, and update your account information in the app. To access, correct, export, or delete information we hold about you, email info@routestudy.com. We respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

RouteStudy is operated from, and stores data in, the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

The Service is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date, and for material changes we'll email account holders before the change takes effect.
